A painting I completed for the National Portrait exhibition in Wellington. Unfortunately it didn't win the grand prize but the Alexander Turnbull Library like it enough to buy it. The painting was based on a black and white photograph taken by Diana Wong of John Holmwood, an illustrator and artist.

The beginning

Today is the day that Jill helped me start my very own blogsite. All very intimidating and when we loaded up my first picture, it was the first time in 15 years that Jill has seen me blush!!! Very funny.... well for her, not for me!!

Paintings done on drawer fronts with handles still on them for an exhibition titled "Open and Shut".
